Dr. Vikas Vithal Shinde is currently working as Professor in the Mechanical engineering Department at Vishwaniketan iMEET, Khalapur, affiliated to Mumbai University. I have completed Ph.D in Project Based Learning (PBL) from Aalborg University Denmark in the year 2014, under UNESCO chair in PBL. I am the first PhD in PBL from and across India, awarded by the UNESCO chair in PBL. I am also working as Director; Centre of excellence in Project based Learning. In this capacity, my objective is to create an ecosystem for PBL implementation across the country and to create the network of the PBL institutes. The vision behind is to enhance the curricular, and teaching-learning methodologies practiced in engineering education, to enable shift towards outcome based education.

I received prestigious “Erasmus Mundus Mobility for Life” scholarship from European Union from the year 2010-2014. I also work as Erasmus + project coordinator for Vishwaniketan. I have been nominated as Steering committee member representing Vishwaniketan, India for Erasmus+ project Capacity building in Higher education, having six consortium members including India, Denmark, Spain, Bulgaria, Thailand, and Pakistan. The project period is from Jan 2019- till Jan 2022.

I have more than 17 years of teaching experience and worked on various academic and administrative positions of the institute. Currently, I am guiding two PhD candidates for the research work. I have published 07 text books, one international e-thesis with international ISBN (total download count is more than 900) and more than 35 papers in national journal and six in international indexed database. I have two patents and in the past have been nominated for young scientist award (2005-2006) and received young innovator award (2015) for innovative contribution in hydrogen energy, and accolades for work in Hydrogen Energy (2015) from Prime minister’s office.

I have keen interest in the areas of Project based learning, Engineering Education, tribology and energy engineering. I have visited 17 countries and four international universities which include Aalborg University (Denmark), Coventry University (UK), MFU, Thailand, and Aalto University (Finland). In the recent past, I have been involved as reviewer of European Journal of Engineering Education, International Journal of Engineering Education and also acted as consultant to spread PBL in India. I have conducted more than 55 workshops on PBL, NAAC and various forms of Teaching-learning practices which also include workshops with international delegates from Denmark, Malaysia and USA. So far, I have trained more than 2700 teachers and worked with numerous students across India. I am passionate about teaching, research; and wilful to contribute extensively in the engineering education of the country.

I have experience of 13 years for international relations as regards to European projects, arranging PhD study for faculties from India to European and US universities. I have taken training for one month on PBL in Aalborg University, Denmark. Since last 5 years, I am looking after UG fellowship (Summer Project Training Internship) in 11 universities abroad: 3 universities in USA, UK, Italy, Greece, Denmark, Bulgaria, Ireland, Russia and Ukraine

Dr. Sandeep S. Inamdar is bachelor in Electrical Engineering and completed Masters degree in control systems. He completed his Doctoral programme from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) in Electrical Distribution System Efficiency Improvement.
He has total 30 years of experience in education, out of which 20+ years he has been leading different academic campuses in the capacity of Director or Principal & has worked with more than 40,000 students. He was Senate Member of University of Pune, member of board of management, board of Research of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi. He was expert member of Department of Science & Technology Committee of Government of India for the scheme of ‘Rajat Jayanti Vigyan Sancharak Fellowship’.

He has participated in two European Union Projects under Erasmus Mundus programs, which provided 42 fellowships to Indian scholars at the level of Masters, Ph. D., Post Ph. D. He is trustee of the first Indian Standardization Body of India titled ‘Global ICT Standardization Forum for India “GISFI” (www.gisfi.org.in). He has worked as Director CTIF-India for last 8 years. More than 50 teachers in India have completed their PhD studies abroad under the CGC – VISHWANIKETAN network which also has created 700 fellowships for under Graduate students for PBL training in Universities in Europe, USA & Russia.

He has organized more than 30 International Workshops and conferences including Kadiloscope, an International Telecom Union event. He has worked on number of Industry collaborations successfully like IBM Centre of excellence, Reliance man power development programme etc. and the internal revenue generation has reached more than Rs.80 million.

He has travelled extensively in more than 28 countries and delivered talks in Universities abroad. He has deeply studied education systems of developed countries and is a very strongly convinced that Indian education has to be transformed from theoretical (question-answer-marks cycle) to problem & project based learning. He has given counselling to more than 60,000 students for career guidance all across India. His counselling gives the student, insight on long term career planning, focus, willingness to work, ethics and Technical/Life skill development.
He is currently Trustee and Vice-President of Vishwaniketan, (www.vishwaniketan.edu.in), an institute created by him and his friends from industry and academia for giving world class learning experience to Indian Students. Vishwaniketan has initiated a campus on 18 Acres of land close to Navi Mumbai on Mumbai – Pune Expressway, where “Centre of Excellence” has been developed for Project Based Learning, with focus on product development based research, entrepreneurship and start-ups. Vishwaniketan runs an Engineering College, Architecture College affiliated to Mumbai University
